French Art Deco through the eyes of Parisian designer Damien Langlois-Meurinne

  • Friday, December 7, 2012

  • It’s easier to copy a furniture piece than to reimagine one but my colleague Damien Langlois-Meurinne has superbly done the latter with this elegant, sleek and glam, 1930s inspired sofa he designed for Sé.

While I’m not a proponent of using the sofa as a bed, the sight of this just seduces you into wanting to enjoy it to its max … and I know, it seduced me and I can tell you it’s not just a pretty sight; it’s TERRIBY comfortable as well.  Depending on its upholstery, it can also be very manly, regardless of its curves!

Damien got his start with the master of modernist minimalism, Christian Liaigre, then went off to create a furniture line for Zimmer + Rohde and about 10 years ago, opened his own interior design studio in Paris.
