Collecting the ever so chic jewelry and glass objects from Lalique

  • Monday, October 15, 2012

  • One of today’s most iconic luxury brands is the French House of Lalique, founded at the end of the 19th century by artist René Lalique.  At the beginning, the business was focused on wonderfully imaginative jewelry that captivated the rich and famous.  At the zenith of his career as jeweler, Lalique changed directions and focused his energies into producing beautiful pieces of glass – perfume bottles and decorative objects for the home.  Today when people think Lalique, they think of these objects.

As my inaugural feature as a contributing editor to The DailyBasics*, I’m touching on collecting some of the precious objects made by Lalique.

My thanks to Cynthia Bogart for her kind invitation and I hope you, my readers, will enjoy the post on her site.

*The Daily Basics is one of the web’s most visited lifestyle directories offering the best of Home & Garden, Travel & Living, Food & Drink, Body & Fashion and Arts & Literature by today’s lifestyle and home experts.
