chairs with a midcentury Scandi-Italo look

  • Finding contemporary dining chairs with a midcentury feel is not an easy task as I recently found out while on the hunt for a set.

And so when I bumped into these lovelies by Marconato and Zappa for Italian firm, Porada, I immediately had to report back to the client.  The elegant and simple walnut frame reminds me of minimalistic mid-century Scandinavian chairs while their seat and back is all Italian comfort and style. And not being clunky and heavy, they were perfect … so I thought until I got the client’s response!  Nonetheless, I still adore these chairs and for about US$1000 each, you cannot go wrong.
