Houshmands wrap-arounds: not the Diane von Furstenberg type

  • Friday, June 8, 2012

  • Surely the design diva would agree with me that today’s featured low table … R-o-c-k-s- da H-o-u-s-e! It’s phenomenal.

This elegant and modern glass table is fitted with a walnut micro slab that wraps around the glass like a fitted dress over a sleek and sexy female body.  There is enough wood to soften the cold glass and make it not only extremely interesting but  tres handsome.  Part of the Shazam line, this furniture piece is by the brilliant Soho-based artist/designer John Houshmand who was first introduced to me by my blogging colleague Dezignlicious when she wrote a post on his other work for themodernsybarite  (see here).

Can’t you just imagine it anchoring a modern minimalist space in front of a gray Vladimir Kagan Ominibus sofa with 2 B&B Italia Mart swivel armchairs in dark, almost black burgundy leather on one side, and 1 pouf upholstered in white Mongolian lambswool on the other?  Have I died and gone to heaven?
