“honey, I shrunk (and shrunk and shrunk) the table”

  • Thursday, June 14, 2012

  • Brooklyn furniture maker Mark de la Vega’s nesting tables are simply the bomb.

The classic shape is Ruhlmann in its inspiration with beautiful lines and rich rosewood veneers that have been flipped-matched so as not to point in the same direction. The sabots, rather than being made in gilt bronze as they were traditionally, are cast in white bronze and given a muddled appearance to make them more modern.

A thumbs up to Mark!  His sensibilities to both the past and present make for these great tables whisper “look at me”.  Def worth dropping some coin on these.
