Delightful Turkish poufs

  • Monday, June 11, 2012
  • How wonderful is this pouf, the Suri, designed by the Milan based Italo-Turkish design firm AKSU/SUARDI for Istanbul furniture maker Koleksiyon.

Inspired by the 17th century fez - a felt, round or conical shaped hat with a flat top, I find the design to be fresh, modern and elegant.  Often design can be local, but in this case, the design of the Suri is truly international. Imagine - it can sit comfortably well, depending on the color, in a rustic Swiss chalet, in a contemporary American loft or in a refined classic interior (images below).

Don’t you just love a good pouf!
